laylee at 09:30pm on 10/11/2004Did anyone else read the homophobic diatribe that passed for reader letters in the TV Guide in today's Herald-Sun?
Apparently becuase Neighbours is daring to depict a teenage girl coming to terms the fact that she might be gay, they are encouraging innocent children to adopt a dirty and disease-ridden lifestyle that will condemn them to a life of shame and misery. Oh, and of course the gays are overtaking our TVs in general and send the whole world to hell.
I haven't watched Neighbours in years, but I have to admire them for taking a stance on this. With their primary audience aged in their early to late teens, so many people watching the show would be going through the exact same thing as this character and it would have to be a refreshing change of pace to see someone going through a similar situation and not the usual teen!romance!angst!.

I borrowed videos for the first time in about two months. I'm currently watching The Butterfly Effect. It's...okay. A bit slow, but...okay.
I've also got the first four episodes of Andromeda to watch, a movie with D.B. Sweeney and another called Hole in the Sky with Sam Elliott, Jerry O'Connell and Young!CKR in a cowboy hat playing poker.

ETA: I've given up on The Butterfly Effect. It turned out to be a bit too slow and I'm too tired to concentrate on it. The DVD has to go back tomorrow so I'll give it a go some other time.
