sporks life

I got rear-ended by a taxi on my way home from the old home town tonight.

I was going to the supermarket before I went home, and the taxi driver failed to notice that I'd paused at an intersection where there is normally a lot of cyclists about and rammed into the back of my car. I've rung my insurance company and they seem cool, but taxi guy isn't because I don't think he was supposed to be driving that particular taxi at the time. He's already rung me about five times about it, asking that I keep his name out of it. Well, too late buster, you should have thought about that before you handed over your drivers licence. And since my insurance company has a seven-day service, I was on the phone to them the minute I stepped through my door. If he rings again, all he's getting is my answering machine. And if he continues to do so, I'll report him to the police for harassment.

But I so didn't need this. I lost my last car thanks to someone rear-ending me, and I've only had this one for a couple of months. I dislike driving a great deal as it is, and having something like this happen isn't going to make it any easier for me. Thank god for my bike, that's all I can say. If I didn't have that I'd be lost.
