Hellooo interwebs!

I'm still alive, although I'm finding that the longer I go without posting the harder it becomes to do so. I'm still sans internet at home, which seems to shock people more than I thought it would. When I tell them that I have no access to the WWW outside of work hours its like I've told then that I've cut off my left foot or something. Very odd.

So, what's been happening? Not a lot, really. I spent my birthday in a meeting in Wollongong, which was novel, have traveled back and forth to the old home town many times over the last month and ate too many party pies at my niece's fifth birthday party on Saturday. Seriously, I cannot look a meat pie in the eye at the moment. The very though of it makes me want to gag.

I've also been doing a lot of sewing. Dresses mostly. I can't get enough dresses these days and as a result my wardrobe it about to burst at the seams, so to speak. But still. DRESSES!!!!!

*ahem*

Not much happening on the fannish front. I seem to have lost all interest in fanfic, both reading and writing it, and I'm barely keeping up with the shows I do have a passing interest in. Put it this way: I've only just watched the first episode of season six of Supernatural. That's how far behind I am. I can't say if this lull is permanent or temporary. I'll just have to wait and find out.

*waves at you all*

ETA: So now I'm eating my words about the fanfic thing because I just found out that [livejournal.com profile] celli posted this perfect little Dan/Casey ficlet for me on AO3 and I just love it!

I'm a wee bit cross with myself because I think I've cut the pattern for my new dress a little too small. I thought the 36 would be okay, but looking at it now I should have gone for the next size up because it seems to me that it runs small. I'm going to have to get creative with it now because I've already bought the fabric for it and if I don't get at least one dress out of that pattern that'll be $28.00 down the drain!

I've been trying to write a post for the last hour but I'm so brain ded I can't gather my thoughts at all. Therefore, a brief summary of what I was going to talk about:

- Holiday nearly finished. Boo!
- Supernatural was teh awesome tonight and Misha Collins is HAWT!
- Lately all I've done is sew and I love it!
- Went to gym for the first time in three weeks today. I am exhausted and could explain the brain dededness.
- I have yummy new bread and made steak for dinner which was also very yummy.
- People who do not know how to use commas properly or forget to put a space between a comma and the following word really irk me.
- I am currently reading Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat and every time a wolf does something wry and/or amusing I can just imagine Dief smirking at me with with this knowing look in his eye. I bet Fraser loves that book and gave it to Ray to read the minute they set off on their adventure.
- Did I mention that Misha Collins is teh HAWT?

I am on holidays from work for two weeks, woot!

So of course I end up spending my first day of freedom being hideously hungover after having dinner with friends B&K on Friday night. Boy, they can put it away! I pretty much spent all of Saturday in bed and only ventured out of the house at around 5pm because I needed bread and milk and cheese for making Mac and Cheese.

I'm feeling much better today, even though I'm still reeling from the whole Torchwood thing, as is much of fandom I suspect. I've been comforting myself by reading schmoopy J2 fic and reminding myself at just how pretty Gareth is when he's all done up in a suit and tie. And buying vintage sewing patterns on eBay. Yeah, my ways of coping with bad news can be a little diverse.

This little thing that has popped up all over my flist has also made me very happy. Very happy indeed :~)

I have done two great things today.

Firstly I cycled around 25K from Alphington to Pascoe Vale, onto Brunswick and back to Alphington. I've been in tracksuit pants and a windcheater all day. I feel like I should be going to gym only I've had more than my fair share of exercise for the moment.

Now I'm so tried I'm about to pass out, however the second thing I've done today is make a new dress and I do not want to go to bed until I finish it. I would have finished it hours ago except I decided to line it, which always adds time to the process. However it hangs so much better with the lining so I'm glad I put in the extra effort. All I need to do now is finish the facing and hem it and there you have it - new dress!

It's this dress in case you were wondering, the sleeveless version made in a soft grey twill that has a fine check running through it.

I still haven't seen the Supernatural finale, however I'm thinking I should probably see the rest of the season before I do. I might have a better idea of what's going on if I don't skip to the end like I normally do. Continuity and plot development and all that. Yeah.
