I've just been to see Jarhead and I'm pretty sure that Jake Gyllenhaal is my new sekrit boyfriend. Especially after the Chirstmas party scene.

I'm feeling a little less jet-lagged, although I nearly fell asleep in class today. And I'm never going to be able to take the prescribed text seriously because my boss is one of its authors and how can you take a scholarly book seriously when you've sat drinking red wine and trading dirty jokes with the guy who wrote it?

But worst of all, I totally forgot that it was pancake day, so I'm going to have a belated Shrove Tuesday on Wednesday instead, because I just love pancakes!

I failed to make pancakes again today. I am determined to have them at some stage this week, but obviously not today. Also it occurs to me that I haven't said much about my trip, nor have I posted any photos. I will do both, but I need to find my sea legs again or something before I do. I did, however, post all the postcards I promised to send to various people, while I was still in the country even, so you should receive them some time soon.

Oh, and it's 23 days until my birthday.
