Huh, the power just went out. at first I thought it was just me, but I checked all the fuses and they were fine, so I went down to see if anyone else in my building had lost their power and my neighbour told me it has gone out all over Melbourne.

I wouldn't mind so much if it weren't so hot, but no power means no fan, and no fan means a very sweaty Laylee :~\

I'm working off battery on my laptop at the moment, but that's only good for about three hours so I hope it doesn't take too long for them to fix things. Not to mention the potential disaster that is my freezer.

ETA: The power's back on, although it's randomly gone out again a couple of times, but never for more than five minutes. Apparently it's due to the bushfires knocking out an interconnector in Victoria's north-east. It's going to be another very hot day tomorrow, and there's no relief in sight. This map can give you an idea of the worst affected areas.

Note to self: buy candles or a torch, preferably both.
Mood:: 'peeved' peeved

This was only posted to [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashfiction today, but it's pretty much an insta-rec. I'm not a big fan of horror stories, but it had me riveted to my seat until the end. Inspired by House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, it's quite styalised, but apparantly not as styalised as the source text which I now have to read.

The Fraser Records (Excerpts) by [livejournal.com profile] custardpringle, rated R for horror themes.
