Sports Night: Happily Ever Afters Fail by phoebesmum, written for this year's
picfor1000 challenge.
phoebesmum always gives good angst and this is a wonderfully melancholy Natalie-centric piece that tears at your heart until the sweetness of the very end starts to mend it again.
Sports Night: Cold Wind, Another Season by lordessrenegade. Another one written for this year's
picfor1000, this bittersweet story features Dan, Casey and a hotel room, giving the reader heartache and hope all at the same time.
due South: The Fraser Record (Excerpts) by custardpringle. Written for the Space Challenge over at
ds_flashfiction, this moody and intriguing fic was inspired by the amazingly unconventional novel, House of Leaves, by Mark Z. Danielewski. When RayK and Fraser investigate the death of a reclusive old man, they have no idea what they are getting themselves into. Nor can they even guess what will happen when they venture inside the house.
due South: Real Boys by Salieri (troyswann). Some good stuff came out of the
ds_flashfiction Space Challenge, and this homage to Philip K. Dick is a wonderfully long and plotty novella wherein Ray Kowalski is a disolusioned cop of the future who comes to the aid of Benton Fraser, member of the Royal Colonial Mounted Police and the bearer of more than one secret that could get them both killed.
Slings & Arrows: Outrageous Fortune by Corinna (corinna_5). Written for last year's Yuletide, it is set after the events of season one and sees Jack and Kate in Hollywood. Kate is trying to navigate Jack's world and is feeling a little lost, until the chance to get back to her roots sets everything into place for her.
Happy reading, everyone, and please jump into the fun if you're so inclned. You can join in at any time and it's always great to share the fandom love around!
