I have the feeling I'm going to end up with more copies of the Hard Core edition of Hard Core Logo than one person really needs.

After letting them know in no uncertain terms that I would not supply them with a copy of my credit card statement, Chapters has seen fit to approve the order and apparently it is now awaiting shipment. Meanwhile I ordered it from a site recommended by [livejournal.com profile] micehell after Chapters looked like they weren't going to be forthcoming, and that copy is also pending, not to mention the still open order from amazon.ca.

Now it's just a case of waiting to see whose copy arrives first. I bet it isn't amazon's.

As long as you get at least one. You can probably cancel/swap/resell any excess copies. All will be well.

I'm thinking ebay might get an influx of HCL DVDs from the Australasia region very soon.

I bought shoes off eBay yesterday, btw. I thought of you. "I am buying shoes by default," I thought. (They're black, sequinned espadrilles, which will do for the wedding if it's hot and I go with #2 dress - which is quite old, and may be too washed out, but has a nicer skirt than the Hyacinth Bucket one - and will be wearable elsewhere if not. £4, including postage, yay! I have several pairs of sandals on watch.)

Mmm, shoes...

*is jealous of your shoe buying ability given I'm going through voluntary abstinence from shopping*

Huh. It's an addiction. I have a couple of dresses on watch too, now. "Stop it! Hyacinth will do fine for the wedding, and no-one's going to be looking at you anyway!"

(That's what my mother used to say, btw, when I did my hair up, or put make-up on, or dressed up for a night out. "Who do you think's going to be looking at you?!" Honestly, where do mothers get these things?)

My mother would always give my going out outfits the once over, pause, and then say, "Well, it's very you." I've never been quite sure if it was an insult or a compliment.

One of the best lines in The OC was in the first episode, when Julie Cooper looked at her rake-thin twiglet daughter and said "I thought you were going to wear the Donna Karan, it's so forgiving!" Yup, I thought, that writer has Known A Mother's Love.

God bless our mothers. What would we do without them?

Oh, and did you see that Four Brothers is number one in the USA at the moment?

Good god, was nothing else released this week?!

8. Sky High (2005)
9. Must Love Dogs (2005)

H'm. I think the phrase we are looking for here - another one of my mother's - is "Small choice in rotten apples".

It's like some kind of bizarre race. You must post updates! And you could do a poll, bet on who comes in first... Clearly I'm up too late. At least its coming now. :)

I'll keep you all informed, although personally I won't truly believe that it even exists until I have it in my hot little hand. Until then it's just some annoying internet myth.
