It's a worry when the only things worth watching on TV are SBS World News and a documentary about the making of Debbie Does Dallas.

I never watch reality TV. Ever. 'Survivor', 'Big Brother', whatever - couldn't give a stuff. So imagine my horror when I became hooked on 'America's Next Top Model'.

(No, honestly. It's great. They get all these thin, pretty girls, with maybe half a dozen collective brain cells among them - and that's being generous - put them in a house together and let them bitch at one another for 12 weeks. Occasionally they take them out of the house and do horrible things to them. My favourite was when they put them into full costume and make up and then made them jump on a trampoline, still posing for the cameras.)

Everyone's allowed one failing, right?

I have two possible pairs of shoes for the wedding now. *Tears self away from eBay*

The thing is, there wasn't any reality TV shows on for a change. We actually had movies, documentaries and dramas (I don't count the football on channel nine.) And yet the most interesting thing out of them all was Debbie!

(Maybe you've acquired my shoe habit by osmosis.)

The reason why there's "Once Upon A Time in China" in my DVD player. At least this time it's in Cantonese and not the seriously weird English dub version of the last HK movie I hired... And it's really weird watching a English commentary to a Chinese movie.

That would be weird. And very surreal.

Not as surreal as one might think, but definitely weird.
