Yes, I'm being McSpammity today, but you know what it's like when you've got to write 4000 words on something you find boring.

I have my new printer cartridge, and found a fabulous recipe for chocolate slice in today's paper. And I had another Delia Smith moment today when I bought some steak at the supermarket, diced it and threw it into a casserole dish with an onion, a carrot, a potato, some mushrooms, a tin of crushed tomatoes, some tomato paste, a dash of water, a bay leaf and some basil and shoved it into a low oven for three hours. OMG, casserole!!

[livejournal.com profile] ds_recs has a great photo rec today. Every which Ray (heh!) you think of and some wonderful Fraser photos as well. Makes me want to break out my DVDs and start the series from the beginning again. Of course Kowalski (and, by extension, CKR) will always have my heart, but I do have a great amount of love for Vecchio and really do enjoy the first two seasons just as much as the third.

Speaking of which (even though we weren't) [livejournal.com profile] catwalksalone has written a wonderful series of linked drabbles based on Based on the Forbes Seven Rules of Office Romance: Love in the Time of Cubicles for the latest [livejournal.com profile] sn100 challenge. Go read them. You know you want to.

ETA: I'm now having a weird Sons and Daughters flashback with both Ally Fowler and Peter Phelps guest starring on All Saints tonight. Plus, Cameron Daddo on CSI?

It's one of Annie's. She let people choose from her stash at one stage and how could I resist?

I could never eat a casserole, even if I ate meat. My mother used to make one every Saturday, and they were horrible, it's put me off for life, even though I'm sure yours was much nicer.

Kate is fast turning into one of the best writers in the (much too tiny!) Sports Night world, and if I didn't like her and her stuff so much I would be jealous. (I'm quite jealous anyway, but that's just me.)

My mum's casseroles were okay, but like many cooks of her generation she was a little bit afraid of herbs and spices so I remember them as being somewhat bland. If it wasn't salt and pepper she pretty much ignored it. No chucking in a handful of thyme or oregano a la J. Oliver. Mine could have benefitted from a slash or three of red wine, but it wasn't too bad.
