I'm waching Four Weddings and a Funeral for the billionth time because it's either that or an Iron Chef marathon on SBS, and when I flipped over to Iron Chef they were doing unspeakable thing to fish :~\

I've been invited to a costume party. My friend K loves costume parties and it's her birthday next month so the theme is come as you favourite TV character. At first I was at a loss as to who to go as. I briefly toyed with the idea of going as Buffy, but I'm neither short enough, skinny enough and my hair certainly isn't that straight. Then today, when I was fossicking around the Salvo's shop in Braybrook, I had a epiphany.

What TV character has an unreasonable love for shoes, has long curly hair and will wear a hessian sack tied at the waist with a shoe lace if Vogue told her to? That's right, I'm going as Carrie Bradshaw! I have the perfect vintage frock, all I need to do is make my hair big and curly, throw on a few funky accessories and buy those shoes I've had my eye on in station street for the last few weeks. Problem solved :~)

Speaking of Buffy, David Boreanaz's new series is starting on channel seven next month. Anyone seen it/love it/hate it?

Is that Bones? Some people like it, I believe. I found it overly gruesome and sadistic, and the heroine, who I think is supposed to be autistic or something, gets tiresome - she's a world traveller and an expert in about 9,000 fields but incapable of functioning at a basic level. She's the head of a team of eccentric geniuses, who ought to be amusing, but are so thinly characterised and badly written that, again, it just gets tedious.

But you may love it, who can tell? I don't like a lot of things that fandom lurves.

It's supposedly based on Kathy Reichs's own life, but, I suspect, very loosely.

It is Bones. I've heard both good and bad things about it, but I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I'm never sure what i'll like as compared to fandom. I truly cannot see the point of SGA, and I've tried and tried to get into Veronica Mars because on the surface it's right up my alley, yet it fails to be entralled each time I watch it :~\

Well, the main point of V Mars is Logan, who is nearly as woobie as Danny - possibly even more so - but he starts out as a total ass, so if you don't hang in there, you miss it. Veronica herself has a really annoying voice and is, other than Cordelia Chase, the world's most unconvincing teenager, so ...

You know how I feel about SGA and, indeed, SG-1. Although I do have to say, I think the LJ obsession with the former has died down a wee bit, thank god.

My main problem with V Mars is the the channel screening it over here keeps taking it off air because it doesn't 'rate' so I've missed quite a few episodes and have no real idea of what's going on. I supposed I could borrow the DVDs from my friend, but then I'd have to find the time to actually watch them.

SGA is still pretty popular around the due South world, although I have noticed that it's not being mentioned as often of late. I used to really enjoy SG-1, but it's become yet another example of a show that should have been put out of its misery at least two seasons ago.

I really like Bones. It took a few eps to grow on me, but by the end of the first season, it was one of my favorite shows. The supporting characters in particular are a ball. :)

My big problem is that I've become such a bad TV watcher. I just forget to turn it on. I even forgot to turn it on for Doctor Who last night and that's my most favourite show ever!

Another Bones fan here. Give it a few episodes; it took me a while to get into it. But I like it a lot, and more all the time. The characters are really engaging, and all pretty screwed up in rather appealing ways.

They're the sort od characters I like; lots of quirks that help me realise that I'm not the only weird one in the world.

Huh. I think I have got the eps for at least more than 6 months now and I still haven't gotten around to watch it.

And you will SO have to post pictures!!! :D

I can't remember when it's satrting, but I'm sure it's sometime next month. At least I'll know who to see if I do get hooked and miss an episode *g*

I'm sure there'll be picture. However whether or not they'll be publicly available really depends on how much I have to drink on the night!

LOL! I have so many shows and most of them I haven't even watched. It's... actually, kinda scary. I just organised my DVD-Rs over the weekend, and I think I have over 200 of them.

Ohh... drink more then! :P

Is that Bones? I gave it a chance more because of the lead actress (I'd read a book by Kathy Reich) than because of David Boreanaz but he's been surprisingly good. And they've been surprisingly good. Some of the eps are "eh" and some are really interesting but overall it's been a good experience and I am looking forward to the next season.

I'm a big David fan from way back, so I'm interested to see how he fares post Buffy and Angel. I'm definitely going to give it a go.

Hey! You were at one of my regular op shops!
(If you keep heading west, there is an even bigger one or two at Deer Park. But I suppose you already know that...)

I've been to the two at Deer Park a few times, but I'd keep seeing the one in Braybrook on my way home from Ballarat and always wanted to check it out, so yesterday I did! I got a very nice cake tin and some knitting patterns :~)
