I'm feeling a touch nostalgic tonight and when that happens I find that youtube is a good way to seek out lost snippets of my childhood.

This is for those of us who are old enough to remember, and for those who aren't and wonder what all the fuss is about when people rave on about some silly ice skaters.

What do you bet that Natalie owns all the Torvill and Dean DVDs and even though he doesn't say so, Jeremy really enjoys watching them with her when she's in a 'Dorothy Hamel' mood.

Ahh, man....*grins with nostalgia* I turned six in '84 but that's irrelevant - it was Torvill & Dean!

I was a little bit older than 6, but I still remember being obssessed with them after they won the gold medal. I thought they were the most beautiful things I had ever seen, even though these days the amount of blusher that Jayne is wearing is quite frightening!

Yay, I loved that! I totally pretended to be a figure skater for ages afterwards, sliding around the garden on imaginary skates.

I so wanted to learn how to ice skate after seeing them on TV, even though there's not a whole lot of ice rinks in Australia, and none at all in the old home town!
