e So much for not getting any Christmas presents this year. I've actually done very well, if you don't count the fact that I bought most of them myself. My bank account is now crying out in agony, but so far the tally is:
  • Fic by [info]phoebesmum
  • New mobile phone
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer seasons 1-3 on DVD
  • A cook book
  • Kitchen accoutrements
  • Make up
  • Bike Helmet
  • Silicon cake pan
  • Vintage sewing patterns
  • shoes
The shoes were a last minute gift. I saw them when I went shopping yesterday and didn't buy them, then decided last night that they would go great with my new dress (when I finally get around to making it) so I went back for them today. I'm currently sitting here with just about all my toes covered in band aids because I am determined to wear them to the party I'm going to tomorrow night.

Have spent the evening watching season one of Buffy for the first time in ages. Joss Whedon's commentary on Welcome to the Hellmouth is highly amusing, and god, some of the clothes Buffy wore in that season are just horrendous! Pucci-esque mini dresses, midriff tops, high-rise pants, tie-dyed t-shirts and chunky boots. Did we really wear that stuff in the mid 90's?

*shudders*

However I am amused no end by Giles using a scanner to check out books in his library, and Cordelia really was the biggest bitch in the world, wasn't she? Funnily enough, though, I much prefer her as a bitch to when she became Saint Cordy in Angel. She had way more depth of character when she was dishing out cutting put-downs.

Oh lord, look at the time. For the last few nights I've jumped online, intending to just catch up on my flist and check my email, but end up spending hours surfing around eBay and obsessively refreshing my flist. No wonder my housework has gotten out of hand. I haven't been doing any to keep it in check!

I think everyone deserves to buy themselves Christmas presents! I bought myself the Doctor Who series 2 box set, and am getting a new tattoo next week! :)

Let's face it, you always buy yourself the best presents, because you know exactly what you want! :)

If I'd left to anyone else I might not have gotten exactly what I wanted, but this way everything is perfect!

My stepmum always chooses the presents, so I almost always get something I... wouldn't choose for myself ::G::

I love Buffy. It is the first tv series I ever owned on dvd and holds a special place in my heart. hee he. And I agree with you Saint Cordy is just too much. Makes me gag and I long for the bitchiness to return. Sometimes is seems as if they just wrote Buffy dialog and have Cordy say it. The whole thing is just off as far as I'm concerned.

Self-bought gifts are the way to go. You're rarely disappointed, its gonna fit and the chances of it ever being re-gifted are very slim.

Just my humble two cents worth.

We've been very happy with our self-bought gifts this year. So happy that we went out and bought some more in the sales yesterday :)

Was surprised by the number of people in the checkout queues wanting to exchange stuff (presumably imperfect gifts).
