OMG, I'm reading this SPN fic and it's like a car crash - so bad yet I can't tear myself away from it. But the agonizing schmoop, the grammatical errors and the poor characterization is making my brain bleed! Why am I torturing myself like this???

For god's sake, somebody stop me!

ETA: Good god, the dialogue! Please save me from the dialogue!!

It's too late, I've been totally suckered in. I'm already up to chapter 12 and there's another two to go!

ARRRRRRGGGGH!

Oh noes! It's the dread SPN badfic compulsion! The last time that happened to me, I couldn't get away for SIXTEEN CHAPTERS. Sixteen chapters of body-image-angst and seekrit cutting and whatnot!

But there's nothing for it, I'm afraid. You just have to ride it out. /o\

Bad!fic, oh how I love thee.

I just read this line in a trainwreck I'm currently reading:

They stay hugged for a lung time.

I haven't read any SPN fic to date but I can imagine the scope for badness is extreme.

A lung time! That actually made me laugh.

Mine included the line...

Did any of them mean anything to me, more than a hole to shove my dick in?

Um, yeah.

Exploring a new fandom is always fun, especially in the beginning before one works out which authors and recs lists can be trusted to deliver the goodies and which ones should be avoided like the plague!

Ok, please to share.

Why do we do this to ourselves? Obviously, something in the plot has caught us and we can't let it go until we've read the whole thing.

I can't even remember what it was called now. I stumbled across it when I was looking for something else, but fortunately my mind has blotted the title out!

I did, however, see someone talking about the worst fanfic ever the other day, and when I had a look at it, it almost made my brain bleed!

Uhhhh...Not sure what to say to that one. It was just too scary. I can't think of any examples of stories I've read that were badfic, but I know they're out there. Well, that's not true. I can think of 4, and I wrote them! tee hee. I have since stopped writing for the good of fandomkind.

I haven't read anything from fanficion.net in a while. I used to read adultfanfiction.net but then they changed hosts or something technical that I have not frame of reference for. That was when I was hot and heavy into anime. There were a few Ruroni Kenshin (hope I spelled that right, its been a while) fics that just blew me away. No sex, cause its the plain jane ffn, but they were just so intense I couldn't believe it. Its one of the keepers I have printed out and will read from time to time.

Uhhhh...Not sure what to say to that one. It was just too scary.

It's hard to tell if it's a deliberate joke or if there really is some rather disturbed fangirl out there who thinks she's writing a masterpiece.

The more bad SPN fic you read, the more you will appreciate the wonderfulness of SN fic. That's karma. Or something. Mostly something. Probably.

Well, I have to admit, I've read SN bad fic as well, but I suspect it has since vanished into the ethernet so it won't be surfacing any time soon.

I'm usually pretty good at spotting a bad fic, and it only takes me a couple paragraphs for me to relalise it's potential for badness, but this one totally fooled me!

Bad fic is strangely sticky - you can't tear yourself away!

It had the tenacity of Velcro, this one did. Each time I thought it was over, I'd find a little bit more!

Ah, the curse of the multiple chapters! Truly one of the most terrifying tool s for creating sticky badfic.
