My Twitch City DVDs have arrived and are currently being held hostage by the delivery company because I wasn't here to sign for them when they came by my flat in the middle of the working day! Don't they realise what they're depriving me of? Callum as Newbie, one of the most seriously cute characters to grace our TV screens next to Johnny Johannsson, who was also played by Callum!

In other fanish news, [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum reports that wee!Josh is working again, with two new projects listed on his profile. And The West Wing finally returned to Australian TV screens last night, with the first two episodes of the sixth season. Oh how I've missed you, Jed and Leo, Josh and Toby, Donna and CJ!

I am currently watching Fortunes of War, a BBC miniseries made in the late 80's and featuring a very young (and yet to be married) Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson as Guy and Harriet Pringle, with an even younger (and still relatively cute) Rupert Graves as Simon. I watched it on the ABC many years ago, so when I was trawling around IMDB looking for something to buy that didn't star either Callum Keith Rennie, Paul Gross, or Josh Charles I remembered how much I enjoyed it and got the entire series from amazon for the princely sum of $US17.00 including postage and handling. I do love a good BBC costume drama and think I'll get Brideshead Revisited next, because who can resist a good bit of unrequited love between pretty boys?

I had to bribe Mr Lamentables with gin last night: so long as he kept watching Twitch City he could continue drinking gin&tonic. Got him through 3 episodes...

Did you have to carry him to bed after all that gin consumption, or did he manage to keep his eyes open long enough to comment on Newbie's cuteness?

"oh god, not him again" was his response to Newbie. Hence the gin.

Ack! West Wing was on last night?? Wow, I totally missed that... and not like I'll be here next week for it either. S6 was sort of when I stopped watching it too, but now I want to see them. Sigh. Must remember to get job to make money to spend on the DVDs with once I get home.

I didn't realise it was on until I saw an ad for it on Suday. As it is I ended up taping it and missed the last couple of minutes when they were all looking for Leo :~|

I'm thinking of asking for the DVDs for my birthday next year. It's a big birthday so I may be able to emotionally blackmail the family into buying them for me *g*

Hee. Good luck with that. I tried talking my parents into getting me the special-all-seven-season-in-one set as a Christmas/belated birthday gift, but it didn't go over so well. Mum's response was along the lines of "as <> if!"

K, well, there was supposed to be an actual word between the braces there... Um. LJ formatting will someday be the death of me. Anyway. I'm sure you get the idea...

My HTML skillz are skecthy to say the least, and don't even ask me about spelling!

I'm lucky in that my brother-in-law is a big fan of the show so I know he and my sister would be okay with it because then they'd get to watch them as well. My mum would initially baulk, but I'd put in some money as well so she'll come around, but my brother may be a problem. I'd better get him extra special Christmas and birthday presents just in case!

Okay, you got your Twitch City dvds (sort of). Mine better arrive today or the USPS will have a lot to answer for.

I hope yours turn up soon. It's dastardly to be kept from Newbie like that!

Blimey, I remember Fortunes of War - I had such a crush on Kenneth Branagh when I was younger. I used to get theatre tickets as birthday presents so I could see him when his theatre company came on tour. I actually met him and Emma Thompson once while I was waiting for my brother to pick me up after the show. They were lovely and chatted for a little while. I don't think I got over it for months.

I had a bit of a crush on him as well at that stage. I soon got over it (especially after that Frankenstein movie) but I'd happily watch Emma Thompson reading the phone I think she's that great!
