One of these days I'll make a post that doesn't include the words 'still sick'. Today in not that day.
I've pretty much written this week off. Got another certificate from the doctor to cover me for today and tomorrow and I'm hoping that when I go to my appointment tomorrow he'll give another one that lets me work half days for a week or so. I have 94 sick days owning to me. If I get a new job away from the University tomorrow I'll never get paid out for them so I might as well use them.
I just can't believe how tired and washed out I feel. Everything aches and sleeping with a permanently stuffy nose and a constant headache? Not going to happen. I've been using my time to work my way through some of the
spn_j2_bigbang fics that I haven't had a chance to read until now, but even the effort of concentrating on hot boys being teh hawt together is almost too much. This afternoon I went for a walk to post a letter and buy milk, a trip that took me all of ten minutes, and by the time I got home I was completely wiped out.
I think I might have a fever. I was cold and then I was hot and now I'm cold again. The heater is on full-bore and I'm rugged up in flannel pyjamas and a jumper, yet I'm freezing.
Oh dear.

Half-days are an excellent idea, but don't push it if you can't handle them. Sometimes the body just needs more time to recover. The library won't fall down if you give yourself proper time to get better. *cuddles you up*

What's your favorite bigbang fic this year?
(no subject)
Honestly, I've been a little underwhelmed by bigbang this year. There hasn't been one story that's really grabbed me and more than a few that I didn't get past the first few paragraphs, or even the summary. I don't know, maybe I'm just not in the mood for fic at the moment.

Perhaps it's because the US is backwards about these kinds of things, but I'm amazed that you're allowed to amass 94 days of sick leave! That's far, far beyond the limit I'm allowed to have before I stop accumulating any more.

The University where I work is rather generous with their sick leave. You do get a set number of days each year, but rather than staying at a static amount, they just keep accumulating. Most other Australian organisations are far less generous, so if five days is all you're allowed, five days is the most you can accumulate before you can't have any more. Yet another reason why leaving the university would be so hard. Who else would let me have over three month's sick leave at my disposal?
