When you see this, post another Supernatural quote in your LJ. Let's see how long this can go on.

Sam: Wait, there's no such thing as unicorns?

spin me 'round and push me over

Meme time, gakked from [livejournal.com profile] katikat

Name a CD you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
Poseidon by The Mavis's. It was their first EP and hasn't been commercially available since 1993. I bought while we were all still living in the old home town and I should have gotten them to sign it before they broke up, but I always thought they'd be around forever :~(

Name a book you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
Blahnik by Boman: Shoes, Photographs, Conversation. Why yes, I am a shoe queen. Why do you ask? *g*

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
It's not exactly a movie, but I'm not sure how many of my flist would own Lillie, a miniseries about the life of Lillie Langtry starring Francesca Annis.

Name a place that you have visited that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
I'd say the old home town, but I know for a fact that at least two of you have been there, so I'm nominating Manangatang in the Victorian Mallee region.

Name a piece of technology or any sort of tool you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
My book measure that tells me if a book is a folio, elephant or giant folio. It was given to me by the rare books cataloger at work and I just love it.

not gone, just hiding

I seem to have taken a mini hiatus from LJ. I've been lurking around - sort of - but not interacting much and only really skimming my flist. I've had a bit of a week at work and what with not riding my bike for the last ten days I'm feeling like I've gone to seed just a tad. All the pikelet's I've made over the last couple of days haven't helped either. But the denim skirt I've been making has worked out wonderfully and new MiniSN after such a long time is enough to put a smile on anyone's face.

It was More Joy Day yesterday, and thank you so much to [livejournal.com profile] vsee for my rubber duck and to Anony-Mouse for my polar bear, I love them greatly!

Is it just me or is LJ being awfully slow at the moment?

I have a pretty packed weekend coming up, aside from the usual laundry/cleaning/groceries kind of thing. On Saturday I'm going to see Wicked with a couple of friends. We're having dinner at Wagamama first, which is not my favourite place to eat, but it has lots of vegan options for A which is the important thing. Then on Sunday afternoon I'm going to see the Art Deco exhibition at NGV with best work friend and her office mate, and for dinner I'm dining at a Japanese restaurant with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] in_the_bottle and a few others. Woot, social life!

Aaaand in other news, here's my contribution to that retrospective meme that's going around:

No post for July 4th 2007, but on July 3rd I was bored at work and distracting my flist with picspam of cute boys and a kitten. I was also quite gleeful about the fact that my season three Slings and Arrows DVDs had just arrived and could hardly wait to get home to say hi to Geoffrey and Co.

On July 4th 2006, work was so boring I thought I was about to die from ennui.

No post for July 4th, 2005 either, but on July 3rd I made chocolate cake to take over to a friend's house and that even A dragged me out to see see War of the Worlds so as to escape his housemate's cacophonous relatives.

I didn't post at all on July 3rd or 4th in 2004, but on the 5th my Sports Night DVDs finally came back to me after living with a friend for a month or so, and I was in the midst of doing the research that would eventually result in the purchase of the laptop I am currently using. OMG, has it really been four years since I bought it?

And only July 4th, 2003, I hadn't even heard of LJ that stage and was still trawling around yahoo.groups for all the good stuff.

How time does fly!

I think I might be suffering from SPN Big Bang fatigue. The last couple of days, just the thought I tackling one of the fics in my 'To Read' folder makes me cringe. I think I need to go back to due South for a while. Get me some F/K snuggling so that when I return to the SPN boys it will be all fresh and new again.

Yeah.

cough splutter

I'm still feeling poorly so I've taken another day off today. I did go into work yesterday, but that might have been a mistake because everyone kept saying, "You don't look too good, are you sure you should be here?" so I'm assuming that my absence today won't come as any shock to them. I've got an appointment to see the doctor at midday and depending on what he says I may take tomorrow off as well, as long as I can get someone to do the roster for me :~\

Of course it happens to be my luck that I have not one but two building sites outside my bedroom window at the moment, so do you think I got the chance to sleep in or anything? Of course not! 7.30am and there's the insistent beep beep beep of the bobcat, thew banging of hammers and the conversations about football and "Hey, mick, chuck us the bloody hammer, mate!"

Grrr!
