After yesterday's soul-crushing suckiness, I'm taking a mental health day to regain a bit of equilibrium. I have to go to the supermarket later, but I think I'll also pop into Darn Cheap Fabric and get something to make a skirt with then go and have cake and coffee at Pantheon in Station street. A little bit of shopping always makes me feel better, even if I'm just buying eggs and TP.

Meanwhile it's old home week over at crack_van at the moment. amaresu is reccing Harsh Realm this month and all the old HRFic gang is popping out of the woodwork to say hello. I've been toying with the idea of treating myself to the DVDs for a while now, but this has more or less made up my mind. Not only was it was my first major foray into fandom, it was also the first one that got me writing fic on a regular basis. And god, some of the dross movies I sat through simply because D.B. Sweeney was in them (as you do for your lastest crush - Crossworlds anyone?) however I do have a very soft spot for The Cutting Edge and Memphis Belle.

It's strange to think that in those days slash still very much squicked me out. The boy/boy thing didn't happen until Sports Night came on the scene :~)

OMG, there's the cutest lion cub on my TV at the moment! Awww, little baby animals *wibble*

And did anyone one know that I'm With Her, which has been screening on channel 9 in the mornings, starred Teri Polo?

Okay, a second (third?) cup of tea and a shower beckons.
