Only the Aussies on my flist will appreciate this: today I found bananas for $4.00 a kilo in Brunswick! And with the rain we had on Christmas day, things are already looking up for the new year.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum has started posting the holiday fic she most kindly wrote for various people to *kof*shameless moderator plug plug*kof* [livejournal.com profile] snarchive and the first one is the fabulous The Big Wheel Keeps on Turning written for [livejournal.com profile] ngaio. Calvin Trager has a good idea involving celebrity poker and hi-jinks ensue. If you've got a hankering for Card!Sharp!Jeremy, this is the story for you!

Woohoo, Supernatural returns in two weeks! *cheers*

I've just bought vintage dressmaking patterns from a US seller. I've been avoiding this for ages because I knew that once I started there would be no turning back. I'm doomed.

One of my work friends gave me a really cute Flensted cat mobile for Christmas but I have no idea where to hang it. So far I've tried it in the kitchen, the bedroom and the bathroom. It seems happiest in the bathroom so I'll leave it there for the moment, but I'm still not sure that it's right location.

I'm currently scouring eBay for gem irons to make jelly cakes and coming up empty. But does anyone know where I can get couer a la creme moulds?

ETA: My power just went out then came on again. How did that happen and why?
