Only the Aussies on my flist will appreciate this: today I found bananas for $4.00 a kilo in Brunswick! And with the rain we had on Christmas day, things are already looking up for the new year.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum has started posting the holiday fic she most kindly wrote for various people to *kof*shameless moderator plug plug*kof* [livejournal.com profile] snarchive and the first one is the fabulous The Big Wheel Keeps on Turning written for [livejournal.com profile] ngaio. Calvin Trager has a good idea involving celebrity poker and hi-jinks ensue. If you've got a hankering for Card!Sharp!Jeremy, this is the story for you!

Woohoo, Supernatural returns in two weeks! *cheers*

I've just bought vintage dressmaking patterns from a US seller. I've been avoiding this for ages because I knew that once I started there would be no turning back. I'm doomed.

One of my work friends gave me a really cute Flensted cat mobile for Christmas but I have no idea where to hang it. So far I've tried it in the kitchen, the bedroom and the bathroom. It seems happiest in the bathroom so I'll leave it there for the moment, but I'm still not sure that it's right location.

I'm currently scouring eBay for gem irons to make jelly cakes and coming up empty. But does anyone know where I can get couer a la creme moulds?

ETA: My power just went out then came on again. How did that happen and why?

I saw an ad for it on channel ten last night. It's returning sometime in January I think.

Thank you for the plug! Every extra reader is worth their weight in gold. I am not going to pay them their weight in gold, obviously, but the thought is there.

Yay for the falling price of bananananas, and for rain. I'll hope for a return to a semblance of normality next year.

I was going to suggest you might be spelling 'coeur' wrong and confusing Google, but it automatically suggests the correct spelling, doesn't it? (Clever bastard.) In which case, I fear I can be of no help.

I always misplace the 'e' in coeur. It's just one of those little tricks my dyslexia likes to play on me.

You've no idea what joy it is to be able to buy a whole hand of bananas rather that just one as a treat.

You post them and I will plug them. It's as simple as that *g*

Well, I'm not technically Aussie, but YAY about the bananas. I went shopping with my dad a few days after arriving home in Canada, and they were around $1.24/kilo.

I nearly wept.

And then picked myself up off the ground and bought some. I mean, obviously.

Also, am most intrigued by the vintage patterns. Are you actually going to, like, make vintage dresses!?? That is so cool!!!

Yes, as soon as I find some fabric that I like I am going to make vintage dresses. Well, when I say vintage, they're both from the 1970's and are pretty much what's currently in style at the moment. But at least I can almost guarantee that I will not meet anyone wearing the same clothes when I go out *g*

I to was unreasonably excited when I saw cheap bananas. It's funny what a bit of banana deprivation will do to a person.
