I've just noticed that the plastic bit on my toaster is broken. I guess that means I should go and buy a new one on the weekend.

Today was a lot better than yesterday and light years ahead of the day before. Work still sucks, but there's really nothing I can do about it until that fantastic new job comes along. I guess until them I'm just going to have to deal with it in whatever way keeps me sane.

But my Dickens exhibition is looking rather good, and this afternoon my boss surprised me by opening a bottle of wine around closing time so we could celebrate my good grades. She really is very nice and I'm damn lucky to have her.

I've unplugged my answering machine so no more messages from taxi guy. But just in case he does try to pull a swifty, I rang my insurance company tonight and told them he'd asked me to tell them that someone else was driving when he crashed into me.

Does the man not understand the concepts of fraud and pergury?

I feel kind of bad for doing it, but dammit, the guy who crashed into my car wanted me to lie for him just so he could get out of paying his excess! What the fuck does he think I'm going to do? Roll over and play nice?

I've been cheering myself up by watching many episodes of Sports Night. It never fails to make me smile, especially when Dan has the intellectual cops up his ass.

[livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum, the card arrived and it's lovely! Thank you (and the kitties) so much!!

I leave you with one of the many memes that've been going around today. Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] c_regalis:

NB: The concept of alike can only be taught when the concept of same is already understood. Things that are alike have some qualities which are the same and some that are different. For this reason, the first section checks understanding of the concept same. If this concept is not understood, then it should be taught first from level 2 section of this book.

- you know what that means? It means I'm working!

Glad your day's going a bit better. Yay for your boss! And phoning the insurance company to warn them about Taxi Guy sounds like a very sensible precaution.

Huh.

That was me, in case you hadn't realised. Stoopid pooter. Glad the card reached you, too, btw.

Because Josh will always be himself - oblivious and stubborn and *Josh*. And Donna and Sam who did/do live their lives at his whims are just stuck with it. Or learn to move on, for it cannot be forced.

I was replying to feedback. Also, that comment stands as very, very true.

Having recently watch 17 People again, I fully agree with you.

I was trolling on google for this story.

By the way, I got your Christmas card, darlin'. So fantastic! You are just incredibly talented, you know that!

*hugs*
