For reasons that I really can't contemplate at this juncture, I spent a good portion of the afternoon watching women's soccer on TV. Yes, I know, Dan Rydell would be horrified, but there was literally nothing else worth watching and I was feeling too lazy to try and decide on a DVD so girls playing soccer it was.
Speaking of Sports Night, I presume everyone on my flist has ready
scrunchy's latest offering, however I'm going to rec it anyway just so the .01% or you who might have missed it can revel in it's wonderfulness. How Are Things at Crate & Barrel? by
scrunchy, Dan/Casey rated PG-13. Enjoy!
So, I've been seeing this guy for the last week or so, someone I met at the party I went to on new year's day, only the relationship is going to go absolutely nowhere because he's from the UK and he flies home on Tuesday. But you know what? I'm really not that fussed. It's been fun to hang out with a boy-type thing and go on dates and such - even if he won't kiss me because I've been sick and he's not inclined to take a 20 hour flight back to London home with a head cold. We'll probably do the whole, 'Oh, I'll email you!' thing, but it's hardly the romance of the century and if I never see him again after Monday I won't be tearing my hair out about some lost great love or some such.
It's also Best Work Friend's birthday this week and to celebrate she got this amazing three nights for the price of one deal on a $1000 a night suite at The Hotel Windsor. She invited a few of us over last night for a party and OGM, the place is divine! It's literally the size of a small house with two bedrooms, living and dining rooms, a marble bathroom and an entrance hall that's nearly the same size as my bedroom! The hotel its self has been recently refurbished and the suite is beautifully decorated with antique and reproduction furniture, has actual works art on the walls and the most divine view of Parliament House from the balcony. We spent the evening eating cheese, drinking champagne and red wine and all or us wishing we were rich enough to live there permanently and just order room service every day.
Meh, back to work tomorrow. Where has the weekend gone? At least my cold is better, even though I'm still blowing my nose an awful lot. I got the bus to work every day last week but I'm back on the bike tomorrow and (hopefully) gym next week. I have put on so much weight the last couple of months and I feel like such a blob. Time to take myself in hand, methinks, and not let it get the better of me.
Yes.

This whole work-thing is so overrated. If only there wasn't the pressing need for money, I'd give it all up in a minute.
I'm not sure, but I think it's possible that Danny may feel differently about women's soccer.

That sounds like quite the week, with the boy and the posh surroundings, and I have NO IDEA where the weekend went.

I kinda miss living in hotels. We never stayed in anything nearly so posh (though one or two of the places we stayed at were bigger, and much nicer, than the apartment we now rent). I promise, if I am ever rich enough to live in a place like that, I will invite you over and feed you room service.

No. I'm kidding. Mine were in black and white, with dresses bought from a non bridal store. I liked them. Don't know if the bridesmaids liked them as much as I did...
I love watching wedding photos being taken. I write whole stories in my head about the couple and their attendants.

Bridezillas determined that no-one will upstage them on their special day? I have no idea otherwise!
