i refuse to let it get me down because what is the point of that?

I went to make some bananananana and date muffins to take into work tomorrow only to discover that the cupboard moths have struck and I ended up having to toss out all my flour, rice, lentils and legumes. It's such a waste of good food and now I don't get any muffins either! This is on top of the zip on my favourite boots breaking this morning and the general suckiness of the week in general. It'd be almost the last straw, but I'm feel fairly philosophical about things at the moment so I'm not going to let it get me down.

On a brighter side I finally stopped vacillating and joined the gym at work today. I'd been feeling quite unhappy about my old gym for some time and felt that I'd gone as far as I could go there, but change is hard and I dithered around for ages because, well, change is really hard! But today I bit the bullet and even though this place costs a little more per month, I think the change of scene will be good for me in terms of getting motived, something I've been sorely lacking of late. I have a fitness assessment on Monday and after that I'm good to go!

Friday tomorrow, thank god, then I'm off to the old home town again for Z's second birthday on the weekend. I can't believe she's turning two! Where did the time go??

you wouldn't want to be in a hurry or anything

In March 2007 my sister went to Oman and Dubai to visit her best friend who's working there at the moment. While she was away she sent me a postcard. It arrived today :~\

fic rec

I was (silently) cursing the dearth of good SPN fic of late as everyone beavers away on their Big Bang fics when I stumbed across this little gem tonight:

My Wingman by [livejournal.com profile] lyra_wing, whereby Sam is an attending physician and Dean is a cardiac surgeon. Scrubs/Supernatural crossover, rated G.
