I have no less than three chocolate cakes sitting in my refrigerator, and now that all the birthday stuff is done and out of the way I really need to get off my ass and do homework, hang out several loads of laundry, buy vacuum cleaner bags and go to gym so I can work off some of the chocolate cake.

*hic*

Am feeling pretty blah today. I caught up with a friend for a walk along the Yarra this morning, but I spent the afternoon wrestling with an assignment and my stupid internet connection that decided to crap out just as I was ready to upload said assignment to my subject page. Online submission is great, but only if you can get online in the first place.

*grr*

Could tonight's Supernatural be any creepier? But Sam is funny when he's drunk and Dean may be short, but he's pretty damn cute *g*

In conclusion: fish and chips is the best hangover cure ever!

ETA: There's now only two cakes in the fridge, but even that's going a bit far don't you think?

Meh, it's only week four of the semester and I'm already buried under a pile of homework. I'm attempting to keep up with my flist, including my new friends *waves*, but please forgive me if I'm not so vocal over the next few weeks. I promise it will all get better in June.

Meanwhile, woot! birthday pressies! [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum sent me Doctor Who magnets for my fridge and a wonderful pair of red shoes - on the card that is - and [livejournal.com profile] in_the_bottle sent me a fabulous shoe figurine, a card with a blue dress on it and chocolate. Thank you all, so very much!

Had the weirdest experience last night. I was having this dream about moving house, something I apparently regretted because I was getting a little antsy and had to wake myself up. When I woke up, I looked out into the lounge room and I could have sworn there were people standing there staring at my TV. I saw a woman with dark curly hair and a tall guy wearing jeans and a baseball cap. I called out to them but they ignored me and a few seconds later they were gone. Of course they could have been figments of my sleep-fogged mind, however I do believe in ghosts and I have had a few encounters over the years, but never this clearly. Shhhhhpooky!

Okay, I must be off. I've got to go to work, attend a team meeting and then do reference desk in the law library until 9pm and then drive to the old home town so that I can eat pork roast with my family tomorrow night. Meep!

OMG, so full!

My brother took me out for my birthday dinner tonight because he has to go away on Friday and can't join in the family celebration in the old home town. We went to this little Vietnamese place in Smith Street and the food was just great. I had chicken with lemongrass and chilli and coconut rice, and he had crispy beef with plum sauce and sesame. I think it was the best chicken with lemongrass and chilli that I have ever eaten, and J's beef was nothing to sneeze at either.

Afterwards we went back to my flat where he presents me with a chocolate cake. My brother, the electrician who can barely cook himself dinner made me a chocolate cake for my birthday. Can anyone saw awwwwww? And it was fantastic. He found this recipe for red wine chocolate cake and he made it, filled it with cream and frosted it with chocolate ganache and gave it to me for my birthday. Isn't he the bestest brother?

But now I'm so full of cake and chicken and rice and beef I think I'm going to explode!

When my West Wing DVDs arrived I started watching them from the beginning, but yesterday I changed my mind and have been finishing off the seventh season instead. I'm half way through Election Day and even though I know what's going to happen, the suspense is killing me. But at least Josh and Donna finally got it on *g*

After my rambling about the state of the Sports Night fandom the other day, [livejournal.com profile] celli started an SN friending meme in her journal. Go fill it out and tell the world why you love Sports Night.

Oh noes, Annabeth just went looking for Leo. Oh noes!!!!!

ETA: And for the second time in two days The West Wing just made me cry.
