I'm feeling much better today, even though I still didn't get much sleep last night. However I'm not going to think about that. What I am going to think about is things that make me go squee! To wit...

• The fact that I'm feeling much better today and I didn't get woken up by power saws at 7.30am.

• These pictures of Jared Padalecki arriving in Vancouver after presumably a weekend away. OMG, look at his arms!


• The recent pics of Paul Gross who has been out and about promoting his new series Eastwick, as well as those taken on the set of his new movie Gunless, which he is appearing on screen with Callum Keith Rennie for the first time since Wilby Wonderful.


• The coffee and cake I am about to go and acquire in Station Street

It's 1.30 in the afternoon and I'm still in my PJs. That's not a bad thing, is it?

I am on holidays from work for two weeks, woot!

So of course I end up spending my first day of freedom being hideously hungover after having dinner with friends B&K on Friday night. Boy, they can put it away! I pretty much spent all of Saturday in bed and only ventured out of the house at around 5pm because I needed bread and milk and cheese for making Mac and Cheese.

I'm feeling much better today, even though I'm still reeling from the whole Torchwood thing, as is much of fandom I suspect. I've been comforting myself by reading schmoopy J2 fic and reminding myself at just how pretty Gareth is when he's all done up in a suit and tie. And buying vintage sewing patterns on eBay. Yeah, my ways of coping with bad news can be a little diverse.

This little thing that has popped up all over my flist has also made me very happy. Very happy indeed :~)

I took a sick day today because I woke up with a sore throat, a stuffy nose and feeling somewhat off balance. therefore I took the day off.

As it turned out it was a gloriously sunny day and when I went to Station Street at lunch time to grab a coffee, I briefly thought about popping up the Darn Cheap Fabrics in Heidelberg or going for a look around the shops in Rathdown Street. However after a while I came over all wonky again so I went home and had a bit of a sit down. By 3.30 I was wondering if it was too early for a glass of wine so I assumed I was feeling better and dusted and vacuumed the flat. Not sure how I went from 'wine' to 'housework' but my flat is now nice ans shiny clean *g*

I have been trying to avoid reading the reports from the Supernatural con that was held in Sydney last weekend because I was all, woe is me my three current favourite hot guys were in my country and I couldn't be there, woe! But Of course all the reports littering my flit sucked me in and now I'm all damn, why wasn't I there looking at cute boys being cute together? Why oh why did Z have to have her third birthday the same weekend that my current TV boyfriends were in the country? I'm sure my sister, who possesses very few baking skillz, could have managed the pink, pretty princess butterfly cake on her own. *pouts*

I'm knitting hats for small children and OMG, it has been such a fraught experience. For some reason my knotting mojo is completely off and I started and restarted M and Z's hats about three times before I finished them. Even now I want to redo M's hat again because I feel it's a little too short and she'll grow out of it before winter is even half over. I'm currently doing F's hat and one again I've had two goes at it. And of course I have to be adventurous and try something more than the basic cable twist that I usually do. Note to self: do not attempt a C3L after having consumed more than one glass of red.

My nose is all blocked again and of course I've run out of tissues. Meh.

This has been seen all over my flist but it bears repeating. Repeatedly!

The day started out bright and sunny, but has deteriorated into gray and gloomy since lunch time. However none of that matters because it has been such a great week for fandom!

First, of course, there was Jared and Jensen being super adorkable at the Red Bull Soap Box Derby in Vancouver.

Then Callum stepped up to the plate with his debut episode as Lew Ashby in Californication. Of course c_regalis had to do some pic spam, as you do.

But then the Js started to feel neglected so a visit to the SPN set by Buddy TV brought us the news Jared and Jensen are now roomies, the idea of which made every fangirl's ovaries go boom! Warning, the article does contain spoilers for unaired episodes so click with caution.

But really the week has belonged to Paul Gross and his amazing ability to become even better looking with each passing year. Of course all the TIFF photos have been doing the rounds. scriggle and sam80853 among others have been posting picspam galore, but then yesterday eskarinasmith posted a link to Paul's Sharp For Men interview and accompanying OMG GUH! photoshoot.

In conclusion: fandom rocks!

You know how last night I was talking about getting more sleep? Well I don't think that's going to be a problem tonight. I am so tired I am about to drop dead from exhaustion! The combination of getting up really early, my first day back at work, lady pains and the cold I picked up last week have all served to knock me over and stomp on me thoroughly.

*wilts*

But before I toddle off to dreamland, there's a couple of things to share with you.

Firstly, Jared and Jensen are at it again, being all cute and adorable at a public appearance. This time it was for the Red Bull Soap Box Derby, a charity event held in Vancouver over the weekend. Thanks to missyjack, there's a whole host of photos, vids and reports for your squeeing pleasure over at Super-wiki.

Secondly, OMG banananana bread! The other day I found this super easy recipe for banananana bread and seriously, it's the best thing ever!!

I'm a terrible, horrible daughter because I played the 'I'm still feeling sick and can't go anywhere' card to get out of visiting my mum who is staying with my brother tonight before they go on a road trip to visit mum's favourite niece in New South Wales. But it was 6pm by the time the got around to leaving the old home town and I'd been out driving all day, getting caught in traffic jams and missing green lights, so the thought of having to schlep all the way over to Sunshine at 7.30-8 o'clock just didn't work for me. So yeah, out came the 'I'm poorly' card, and while I feel a little guilty about it, I don't feel guilty enough to change out of my PJs and go for a thirty minute drive to Sunshine to atone for my sins :~\

Everyone seems to have seen Dr Horrible except for me and now the first episode doesn't appear to be available online anymore. I'm going to have to potentially shell out for the DVD, aren't I?

*shakes tiny fist of rage*

Remember these shoes? Well, it turns out that they are the bestest, most comfortable shoes in the world, to the extent that I have worn them to work practically every day since I bought them. In fact, they are so fabulous Best Work Friend went and bought a pair for herself and now she can hardly take them off her feet! Anyway, to head off the inevitable heartache that will happen when I finally wear them to death, today I went back to the shop where I bought them and got another pair. It may seem a little excessive, but they really are that comfortable, despite the high heel, and lord knows how long it will take me to find another pair that I can walk as much as I do in these without my feet feeling like their going to curl up and die. In fact, I think I may go back again tomorrow to buy a pair in the cherry patent leather to wear with summer skirts because I really do love them thaaaaaat much.

Hi, I I had pizza and three glasses of wine for dinner tonight. What did you have?

You know how sometimes you start reading a fic, hoping it's going to be good by secretly thinking 'Oh god, how bad is this going to be?' only to have your worst fears realised?

Yeah, that's been me way too many times of late :~\

I have survived another working week. Although considering I was home sick three out of five of those days it wasn't hard to do. Next week id shaping up to be the calm before the beginning of the new semester storm, but I have lined up drinks for next Friday with the girls (and my new token guy) so that should be fun, especially since I'll be toddling off to see The Blow Waves at Ding Dong later that evening. Woot \o/

I ate way too much lasagna tonight. Way way too much lasagna. And the rough red was very rough indeed. But Fancy Town, the new and improved Shanty Town, is shaping up to be not too bad. I just have to make sure I remember to rescue my scarf from there on Sunday cos I love that scarf!

I have yet to see Dr Horrible. I feel so left out! Note to self: do something about it, stat! (But not before tomorrow because you really need to go to bed now, k?)

I'm feeling a bit poorly today so I've taken the day off work. Sort of, if checking one's work email at home while wearing pyjamas counts as work. Mostly I've just been sitting on the couch, watching the 'educational' programs on ABC, reading Supernatural fic, laughing at the idiocy of the SPN board at IMDB and trawling around looking at reports of Jared's recent visit to down under (question: is his 'I lost my undies' face as cute as his 'I lost my shoe' face? One would like to think so *g*)

I must to be getting dressed, though. I have to get a few things at the supermarket, and now I have shes on my mind. Just to look at, mind you. Not to buy. Well, maybe not to buy...

When is the new X-Files movie coming out? I want to see me some Callum on the big screen. I'm all hypped up since the HCL chat the other day and now I wants my CKR and I wants it now!
