Thank you very much to the anony-mouse who gifted me with the extra paid time. It was such a nice surprise and very much appreciated.

*glomps you, whoever you are*

Okay, girls, I need a little bit of dating advice.

So I've been seeing this guy and while he's nice and all, but I've been a little uncertain about the whole thing even though it has been good to have someone pay me some attention and tell me I'm beautiful and all that.

However, cut for possible TMI )

More birthweek fun! Dinner and drinks with work friends last night that culminated in me and best work friend singing along to all the songs while we watched Footloose. I'm sure her dad now thinks we're completely insane and today's hangover was less than fun, but it was sufficiently cured by the judicious application of coffee, peanut butter toast, Vietnamese soup and take away lasagna for dinner.

Thank you so much for the flowers, [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum, and [livejournal.com profile] in_the_bottle your present arrived and I love it! [livejournal.com profile] slashybits your card arrived as well and it's so cute!

However it can't be all birthweek fun and more mundane things must also be achieved this week. Things like going to gym to work off some of the food and drink consumed over the last few days, vacuuming the living room and getting my tax done so I don't miss out on Rudd's economic stimulus bribe payment. I'm also heading up to the old home town on the weekend and I don't want to come home to the pile of laundry sitting unfolded in the basket. So it's not all fun in Layleeland. No wonder I can't be bothered cooking.

[livejournal.com profile] mergatrude is running a Rec Yourself! party over at her journal. Any and all fandoms are welcome to join in, so if you feel like you've been unduly neglected by recs lists and fandom over the years, go and Rec Yourself!

I know a lot of people might consider this to be blasphemy, but thank god the weekend is over. I had the nephew's fifth birthday and as usual Saturday was spent in a flurry of preparing things, including the cake, and then came Sunday and the big day and while it was fun, it was also damn hard work. No wonder I fell asleep in my sister's bed at three in the afternoon.

However F's party was great and things did get off to a ripping start with the delivery of an early birthday gift of a copy of French Provincial Cooking by Elizabeth David from [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum. Mmm, Gateau aux Chocolat et aux Amandes. Simply divine!

You must read this, it's just wonderful: Proved by Your Conviction, Supernatural gen by [livejournal.com profile] kroki_refur, rated PG-13. Sam Winchester walks out of Martin Wyatt’s classroom one day late in 1997 and never walks back in again. Except that's not entirely true.

I am currently driving my mum's big blue Magna Executive because I left Delia in the old home town for a service. The Magna is huge, much bigger than anything I'm used to driving. But that's not what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about is the inevitable phone call from the mechanic who will proceed to tell me that, to keep Delia going for another twelve months, I am going to have to get about $1000 worth of repairs. That's what I'm worried about. Therefore I am on a very lean budget this week. Very lean indeed with no room for extras. This week's gonna suck.

I really need to do my dishes. But what else is new?
