random josh sighting

Why did no one tell me that Josh Charles guest starred on an episode of Law & Order: SVU? An episode that also featured Teri Polo???

Fangirls, you have failed me!

Gah, the things that turn up on your TV on Christmas night. First there was The Breakfast Club and now Little City is on. Gosh, Josh Charles has great arms!

gonzo the great

Hello my lovelies! I hope you've all had a fabulous 25th, doing whatever and with whomever.

What does one do when one is lolling on the couch in a semi-food coma after one's own family gathering? Why, one watches Muppets from Space of course. One Gonzo's journey of self discovery is an ideal way to pass the time, especailly when Miss Piggy is seen to be pummeling Josh Charles. Also Pepe the Prawn? He is kinda fabulous.

lost and lost

My flist has defeated me. I was going to make a supreme effort and try and leave a comment on everything posted today, but I keep getting lost and then more posts arrive and I lose track of where I've been and I try to start over, but I have to do the *dishes* and OMG, could you people stop being so busy!

It's Josh Charles' 37th birthday today. Happy birthday, Josh!

I seem to have lost my USB dive, which is very annoying because it had all the photos of my various fandoms that I've collected over the years on it. I had transferred them onto the USB with the view of uploading them to Photobucket so I could clear some space on my hard drive. Of course I have since deleted all the pics off my laptop, but do you think I had gotten around to saving them to Photobucket before I lost the USB?

I suspect I left it at my mum's house last time I went to visit, but how do you explain what a USB drive is to a 83 year-old who is completely computer illiterate? "It's a little orange stick thingie on the end of a gray cord lanyard thingie." Yep, clear as crystal.

I'm going to buy a new one tomorrow cos I need for work, but dammit I want my pics back!

tis a far far better thing...

So much for all the cozy sleeps-in I was planning for my time off. Every morning at 7.30 on the dot the guys building the house next door start up with the engines and power saws and OMG, is that someone faking an orgasm????

Yes, so, I'm a bit sleep deprived at the moment.

My Supernatural DVDs have shipped! My Supernatural DVDs have shipped! My Supernatural DVDs have shipped! OMG, I'm so excited!!!!

*bounces with glee*

Speaking of SPN, I've been submerged in J2 fic lately, and apparently Jensen made quite a splash when he visited Sydney earlier this year because he was recently voted one of the most f...able people on Australian TV. Australians have great taste, woot!

Oh, and I may have pimped a RL friend into Slings & Arrows yesterday. I noticed that it's starting on pay TV over here and texted A, telling him he had to watch it because it's fabulous. He said he was looking for a new obsession so I'm hoping that he found the joy as easily as the rest of us did. How can anyone resist Geoffrey loudly stating that he has fixed the toilet then sliding effortlessly into a Shakespearean soliloquy using a plunger as a prop?

The wee!Josh-a-like was at gym again today. He has very nice arms, although his ankles are a bit chunky. It's the second time I've seen him at the lunchtime mark so that's probably when he tends to go. I'll be back to doing the gym thing after work next week so I may not see him again, but it's been nice while it lasted. Maybe one day he'll need an interlibrary loan!

I'm off to the old home town for a few days tomorrow. I will be taking my laptop and so I'll be around on and off. I'll catch y'all on the flip side, okay?

well spotted

Remember how a couple of years ago I found a Josh Charles-a-like in the economics library at work? Well, I found another one today, only this time at gym where I could surreptitiously watch him flex his muscles ;~)

He was perhaps a tad taller than wee!Josh, but he had that same dark hair and very similar facial features, however it was the nose that did if for me the most. Like Josh's it was quite distinctive and for a moment there I felt the urge to wander over and ask if he'd heard of a little show called Sports Night. I didn't, because that would have been weird. But I thought about it. For a moment.

and i'm 97 years old

OMG, spaghetti and meatballs. So filling AND so yummy!

Remember how last weekend I was bemoaning the fact that I'd run out of West Wing episodes to watch because I'd finished season one and seasons two-five were with my sister in the old home town? Well N, being a die-hard Sorkin fan herself, took great pity on me and had seasons two, three and four expressed posted to Melbourne so I would have something to watch over the weekend. Isn't she the best sister ever!?

Speaking of things to watch, I recently renewed my academic subscription to The Age, whereby for thirty dollars I get to pick the newspaper up for free from the campus newsagent weekdays and have it home delivered on the weekends until the end of November. Pretty good considering it's $1.40 a pop these days and over $2.00 on weekends. Anyhoo, as a 'valued customer' I get this email the other day saying that with my subscription I'm eligible for a one months' free trial of Quickflix, a Netflix-style DVD delivery service. Why not, says I, so I now have DVDs wending their way to me in the mail! I probably won't go beyond the freebie, but who's to say no to free DVDs delivered to my door? And it also means I borrow Devour without having to shell out actual money at my usual video library to watch Jensen look hot in a crappy movie.

*sigh*

The things we do for fandom.

Speaking of fandom, a wee article about Josh Charles and his new TV series turned up on [livejournal.com profile] sportsnightlink this morning, and it's quite a good read. I'd actually forgotten that I was a member of [livejournal.com profile] sportsnightlink until today and I think that as part of my flist mini spring clean I will go through my comms and drop out of the ones that have had little or no activity of late, or else just litter my flist with posts on subjects in which I am no longer interested.

If only I could get this enthused about cleaning my flat. But at least I've done my dishes!

wasn't it supposed to be spring?

My mum just gave me some chocolate. Yum!

OMFG, you would not believe how cold it is in the old home town today. It barely got to 12°C and currently it's around 4°C. All day it's been rain/hail/wind/sun, rain/hail/wind/sun, etc and of course I forgot to bring a coat with me and I've been shivering in a thin jumper and t-shirt all day. It's so cold, my mum has both the central heating and the gas heater in the lounge room going, that's how cold it is.

Um, I kind of went to my graduation ceremony last night, so I am now really truly finished with school. As far as graduations went it was fairly harmless. The speeches didn't drag and they got through the presenting of the degrees fairly quickly. There was the usual highjinks from the class clown types as they accepted their testamurs, and the academics who presented the students did a fantastic job pronouncing the many names of varied ethnic origin. But it was a long evening. I had to be there at 5pm to get gowned up, and the ceremony didn't start until 8pm so my sister and I had to hang around Monash Clayton (not the most riveting local) for ages before anything really happened. And as soon as it was over we drove back to the old home town and it was midnight before we arrived home.

Today I took the nephew to get his hair cut and then we went for a bus ride. I make a fabulous lasagna for dinner, then F took off with my camera and started taking pictures of everything in sight. I said we could have a budding Helmut Lang on our hands. My sister wondered if anyone really needed that many pictures of her bookcase.

Tomorrow I'm going to look at a $400 dress. I'm just saying.

I've also decided that, aside from a choice few LJers whom I trust, I'm going to read any more fan reactions to the latest season of Supernatural. There is a level of bitchiness going on about the direction this season is taking and the additions to the cast that is getting way OTT and making me get all upset and anxious. Just let me enjoy my show, dammit!

I will therefore leave you with part one of [livejournal.com profile] frances_veritas GINORMOUS Jensen Ackles picspam and the cast photo of wee!Josh's new play that [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum posted today.
